1800 Respect is a confidential information, counselling and support service.
They are open 24 hours to support people impacted by sexual assault, domestic or family violence and abuse.

SAFE AT HOME

Safe at Home is Tasmania's integrated criminal justice response to family violence and is underpinned by the Family Violence Act (2004). It involves a range of services working together to address the risk and safety needs of victims and children, and hold perpetrators accountable. It utilises a pro-arrest, pro-prosecution policy to address family violence, complemented by a human services approach to support recovery and change.

The objectives of the Safe at Home service system are to improve the safety and security for adult and child victims of family violence in the short and long term.

LEGAL AID

Tasmania Legal Aid is a statutory body set up to provide legal advice, representation, family dispute resolution services and legal education to the Tasmanian community. Their focus is on economically and socially disadvantaged Tasmanians, including children. Their services have a deep reach into the Tasmanian community, and help large numbers of Tasmanians and their children through their telephone advice service and face-to-face services.

FAMILY VIOLENCE COUNSELLING and SUPPORT SERVICE

The Family Violence Counselling and Support Service (FVCSS) is a free service. They work with adults, children and young people who have experienced family violence and provides:
• Information, counselling and support by telephone and face to face
• Safety planning
• Linking victims to police support
• Advocacy, liaison and referral to appropriate legal, accommodation and support services

Their 1800 number operates from 9am to midnights weekdays and 4pm to midnight weekends and public holidays.

SafeChoices provides information, referral and support for victims and victim survivors who are experiencing or who have experienced family violence.
